Man, it's been a while since I posted. I blame my schedule. When I come home from work, I usually have plans for most of the remaining evening hours until I go to bed. When I don't, I'm so tired from my day at work that I want to turn my brain off for a while - this does not result in a good blogging state of mind. Of course, I suppose that's all relative. Anyway, it's been a while, so here's an update.
I saw a movie tonight that I wanted to see in the theater, but never took the time. I wish I would have. I want to first mention that I am not a fan of Tom Cruise and especially after the token 'poor sequel' to the great Mission Impossible movie, I was quite skeptical of the third installment. However, upon learning of the director of MI-3 (and of an appearance by the inimitable Simon Pegg), I found myself wanting to make the effort to actually put up with Tom Cruise and watch it. The director was none other than Mr. JJ Abrams, the dude who created the amazing show 'Alias' and the even more amazing 'Lost'. He also created 'Felicity', but that isn't my kind of show, so I have only caught a select few minutes at Janae's when she was watching syndicated episodes on TV. Back to the subject at hand... MI-3 is probably my favorite of the three, beating my previous favorite of #1. The whole movie felt like a long episode of Alias (nothing wrong with that) and it was rather well written, I thought. The soundtrack was scored by none other than Michael Giacchino (who scored Alias, Lost, and the Call of Duty and Medal of Honor games) and was fantastic, as expected. Even if you, like me, lost faith in the franchise after watching MI-2 (or before), I would definitely give this movie a watch. I give it two thumbs up, and will probably purchase it at some point.
Janae is coming back to Springburg! For a couple of weeks, anyway. I'll be so glad to see her. We got a bunch of stuff accomplished over Thanksgiving week, and we'll get more stuff done when she gets back. This time, thankfully, she won't have to be thinking about school in the back of her mind as her last final was today (I realize that I'm typing this at almost 3:00 A.M. on Saturday, but I am writing as if it were before midnight Friday night). She called me last week and was really upset about a test she took and was sure she bombed big time. She then called me last Saturday and said she got the grade back and it revealed her 90% grade on that same test. I was so proud of her - and still am. I'm so impressed with her that she has pushed on with school full force ever since I've known her (even during summer semesters) and continues to do so while in the midst of the hardest academic program she's ever experienced. I'm so proud of her!!! Anyway, her flight is scheduled for a 7:00 P.M. arrival at SGF on Tuesday. I will be dropping drinks off at Gaylon's, heading to the airport to pick up my favorite fiance, and jetting back to Gaylon's to feast upon all the goodies folks are bringing. Between the fellowship and food at Gaylon's, getting to hug and kiss my favorite person, and showing Janae one of my new favorite shows (Frisky Dingo - on Adult Swim - it's amazing, but you need to watch them in order), it should be quite a lovely evening indeed.
I was looking forward to the service project the Young Married class at Glendale is doing tomorrow at Dale Street, but due to an insane amount of incoming packages for Christmas, I'm gonna need to make most of tomorrow morning and afternoon a work day :( I hate that, going in on a day off to do extra work just so I won't be as far behind on Monday as I would be if I had just taken the day off. Oh, well - since I get paid by the hour, the extra dough on the check will be a nice result of extra work, especially during the holidays.
In case anyone is wondering what they're going to be doing Saturday night, a great local band 'Starrfadu' is playing their last show of the year at Borders from 8:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Come enjoy some great local music for free (unless you purchase a fantastic drink from Borders' cafe). Also, a couple of co-workers of mine (in two separate bands) are playing a show next Friday the 22nd - I'll post again before then and mention when and where, I can't remember at the moment. Music is fun!
That's all for now, I guess. See everyone on the flipside. Cheers.
P.S. - On my myspace page (see the link in my 'links' column), I put the preview of Frisky Dingo that ran on Adult Swim. Check it out, along with the other videos I have there, and enjoy. Or don't enjoy, either way; I just want people to watch them.

I love you and I can't wait to spend a whole 2 weeks with you! Yay!!!
It's good to see an update. I haven't blogged in a couple weeks out of laziness. Hopefully, I'll get another post in sometime this week, but we'll see.
I'm most excited for you getting to see Janae again. I imagine your lesson on "absence makes the heart grow fonder" is going well. Does that make sense? Anyway, take care and I hope we get to see you next Sunday.
lookin' for another post...i don't know if you were in Sunday school for the announcement, but we had our baby.
if you're out east..enjoy!!!!
