Monkey News!

So Todd gave me a great idea (and he didn't even know it). I'm gonna start posting what I'm listening to as each entry is coming to a close. I have over 2,000 songs on my iTunes here at work, so hopefully you will see some fairly eclectic song entries. Well, here it is for today:

Artist: Billy Corgan
Song: A100
Album: TheFutureEmbrace

I'm getting excited about a new book that's out (the hardback came out this month and the paperback is due out next month). I normally don't get too worked up about books, as I rarely have the attention span to pick one up for more than about 5 or 10 minutes at a time. This one is unusual in that about 5 or 10 minutes at a time is probably all one would need to feel a proper level of satisfaction with each read.

I will do a little plugging for said book. This book will not only challenge your thinking, but has a very real potential to change your life forever. I'll include the synapsis from Amazon.com below:

Editorial Reviews

Book Description
In this pithy and hilarious book, Karl Pilkington is in conversation with (the often bewildered) Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, the writers and stars of The Office and Extras, unwittingly outwitting even those comedy Goliaths as he struggles in vain to make sense of the world around him.

Unencumbered by erudition and impervious to logic, Karl ambles down a heuristic path to enlightenment under the edifying influence of Ricky and Steve. His pronouncements on such diverse and contentious topics as population control, simian affairs within human society, the sartorial deliberations of solitary spacemen and how long you can stay alive with your head chopped off, are matched in the vehemence with which they are proposed only by the degree to which they are ill-conceived.

Featuring Karl's original illustrations, imaginative scribblings and the best conversations of the world record-breaking Podcasts, The Ricky Gervais Show, this is a unique trip into the world of one of our most innovative thinkers, visionaries and prophets, or as Gervais knows him, "the funniest man I've ever met."

About the Author
Karl Pilkington has led an extraordinary and curiously individual life. As a child growing up in Manchester, he regularly missed school to accompany his parents on caravanning holidays and left without collecting his exam result. Now making up for lost time, Karl's thirst for knowledge is sated by that most reliable fountain of wisdom -- the internet, and regulated by Ricky and Steve's diligent, if ruthless, appraisals of his new-found theories and beliefs.

So there you have it. A must-read for everyone who can read. Cheers.

are you calling your readers monkeys? or does it mean news that is a little bit geared towards non-talking men in abbeys somewhere in the alps?

Livejournal has software that automatically detects your music. There's a field in the postings for music. Just so you know there's a place for mood too, in case you wanted some ideas.
